We put buffalo back on the plains of the ranch in 1994 – the first time in 150 years they were back.  The meat tastes like beef but has the same fat calories as fish!!  Plus, I love to look at them. We are approaching the 600 cow mark using superior Canadian bulls.

The Wolf Springs Ranches breeding herd spends its summers at 8,500 feet on native pasture with natural springs and a creek in the Huerfano River Drainage. Winters are spent on the lower hay fields in a similar natural setting.

We’re excited to be part of the big come back of America’s most magnificent animal that played such a huge part of our country’s history. An important, more modern view of the Bison is its lean, healthy meat that is very low in fat and calories that rivals chicken and fish.
